When SIM-based OTP is used, it prevents the interception and forwarding of OTPs to unauthorized devices. The solution ensures secure, encrypted communication between the OTA platform and the mobile device via a small, silent SIM application (2.5 KB). This SIM application decrypts the secure OTP SMS on the receiving device, ensuring that OTP data is protected from eavesdropping.

Solution

The SIM application is installed on the subscriber’s device (mobile phone, POS, wearables) in silent mode. It decrypts the OTP SMS sent by the OTA platform, ensuring that only the intended recipient can access the OTP. The same OTA platform can remotely install, update, or delete the SIM application, regardless of the device type (feature or smartphone) or network type (2G, 3G, etc.).

Metamorfoz’s SIM application is fully compatible with industry standards such as Java Card, GlobalPlatform, GSM and ETSI allowing seamless integration into any existing network.
